Italian Lutenist and composer, Vincenzo Galilei (father of the famous astronomer), lived mainly in Florence. A distinguished Humanist, he studied in Venice with Giovani Zarlino, Vincenzo Galilei published theoretical works, madrigals and pieces for the lute.
