Organist and German composer, Dietrich Buxtehude had a position in Elseneur and later in the Marienkirche of Lübeck. Buxtehude's prestige and the concerts he organized in Lübeck attracted Johann Sebastian Bach's attention: he came by foot from Arnstad.
