Domenico SCARLATTI (1685-1757)
Son of the Italian composer Alessandro Scarlatti, at the age of the 16, Domenico Scarlatti is composer and organist with the royal chapel of Naples. His functions as Master of music of the prince and the princess of Asturies, bring him to Spain in 1729. Around 1730, Domenico Scarlatti publishes a first collection of thirty-two Sonatas for harpsichord, he will make 555 of them during his life. To these sonatas he adds 12 operas, 1 mass, 1 intermezzo, motets, oratorias and cantatas.
