Julio Salvador SAGRERAS (1879-1942)
Guitarist, pedagogue and Argentinian composer. His two parents were guitarists, who taught him the guitar very early. Julio Salvador Sagreras participates in the concerts at the age of 6. At 12, he studies the piano and the composition at the academy. He progresses quickly and becomes professor of guitar in Académia de Bellas Artes. In Buenos Aires, he makes acquaintance with the editor Francisco Nuñez, which will publish a hundred compositions of Sagreras. In 1905 he opens his own school, Academia de Guitarra. Between 1900 and 1936, Julio Sagreras gives many concerts in concert halls and saloons, and also participates in radio releases.
